I finally discovered how to use the pen tool in Photoshop to make paths. Vector paths, I guess. Anyway it makes my wiggly lines smooth :D The doodle on the left is something I did a while ago. The one on the right uses paths for inking instead of freehand strokes. The letters at the bottom are freehand vs. paths too, although there isn't much difference :P

And what's great is, you can enlarge vector art to any size you want and there will be NO loss in quality! :D

The pen tool is my favorite tool in Photoshop, not to mention it’s easier to use in Photoshop since the bezier points in Illustrator are difficult to grab. Do you have all the modifier keys down?

OHHH! So that's what pen is for! I'm trying to get the works with photoshop... Mmm, sorry, but how do you get it to put out an actual, visible line?

Right click, and one of the options is "stroke path" or something like that, forgot the actual wording. Anyway you select that and it traces the path with the current settings of the paintbrush tool. That's how I got the varied line widths, I just changed the paintbrush setting. :)
